I have had the pleasure of working for Sports-R-Us for over five years and enjoy the attitude and expectations of being a coach for young kids aged 3 to 15. Our objective
of teaching young athletes the fundamentals of various sports and enjoying the game with their teammates makes for a fulfilling experience. I'm always pleased when I hear the parents of one of our athletes say their child looks forward to his class every week because he enjoys the practice.
I don't think it is a coincidence since balance of fundamentals and fun makes for a positive class no matter
the age. I remember Cheryl emphasized this balance when I first interviewed with her back in the day.
My background has been in sports from high school to college along with coaching my two daughters from
basketball to volleyball in elementary and high school. Sports play such an important role when growing up
since it teaches maturity at so many levels. I hope to continue in this capacity as long as possible. |
Programs coached: Football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, all around team sports, and flag football.

Hi! My name is Ken Visk or "Coach Ken". I have been coaching for Sports R Us for
over 5 years. My coaching experience includes baseball, basketball, football,
floor hockey, tennis and golf. I work mainly with young children and their
parents. I especially like seeing the faces of young children when they come to
classes with big smiles on their faces and raring to go. I find that coaching in
a non competitive environment keeps children motivated and wanting to learn
more. Having fun is essential at this age.
I minored in Early
Childhood Education at Oakton Community College and have pre school teaching
experience. I am also ASEP (American Sports Education Program) certified to
coach at the High School level where I am an assistant track and field coach at
my own High School, in which I competed as a long, triple, and high
jumper.
I must admit my job can be challenging but even more so, rewarding. I feel
I have made a difference in the young lives of so many and that is why I enjoy
it so much.

My name is Ryne Luecht and I have worked with Sports R Us since July 2009 and
have coached many sports over the years. Tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball,
floor hockey, dodge ball, and flag football. I played at basketball at Marian
Central Catholic High School and graduated back in 2006. Basketball stands out
more than any other sport. I am a huge roller coaster enthusiast and worked at
the Disney World Resort for 10 months. The other coaches and I help children
who have never played a sport, get introduced to the game improve their
performance within the 5-7 weeks and make it a fun experience so they come back
for more. |

I have been coaching for SRU for just over 10 years. My strengths include soccer
and basketball, which I have played competitively for a combined total of 16
years. Coaching the little ones in t-ball is also a favorite. My favorite thing
about coaching is helping kids to find the confidence to try something new and
challenging in a non-competitive environment. Outside of SRU, I am a home school
teacher, a reader, the occasional writer, a runner and triathlete and a MOM of 3
- my kids' biggest fan. |

Hi my names Amanda and I'm new to the Sports R Us family. However, I am not
new to our motto of promoting a safe and fun active lifestyle for all ages. I am
finishing my degree, elementary education, at Illinois State University. I have
also played many sports competitively and for fun throughout my school years,
which include: soccer, softball, volleyball and more. I love coaching because it
fuses my love for sports and love for teaching all in one. Every day is
different, and a learning experience for both the players and us coaches.
Hopefully I can inspire a young boy or girl to stick with a sport in hopes of
living a healthy active lifestyle. |
